Kirwan named as Barbarians coach for Australia clash

John Kirwan has been named as Barbarians coach for the Killik Cup clash against Australia at Twickenham on November 1.

The Barbarians also confirmed that Kirwan will be in charge when they face Leicester at Welford Road three days later.



Kirwan, 49, played a starring role during the All Blacks' 1987 World Cup triumph and scored 35 tries during his Test career.

He subsequently filled senior coaching roles with the Italy and Japan national teams, and is the current Auckland Blues head coach.
