Leinster and Ireland star Rhys Ruddock could miss the rest of the season

Rhys Ruddock has been ruled out of the Pool 3 encounter having picked up a hamstring problem midway through the second half in the gruelling 18-8 win over the reigning Premiership champions.

The 27-year-old could be ruled out for the rest of the season.

Leinster coach Stuart Lancaster says they will have a clearer picture on the extent of his injury today.

"He won't be in training on Tuesday, but the picture isn't clearer yet," said Lancaster.

"He was sent for a scan on Monday afternoon, so we haven't had the scan results yet. "We will wait and see in the next 24 or 48 hours to have a clearer picture on that.

"He won't be training on Wednesday I don't think."

For Leinster, Josh van der Flier, Jordi Murphy and Dan Leavy are all available to fill the immedaite void for the return leg with Exeter Chiefs in the Champions Cup at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
