Leinster Register James Lowe For Champions Cup Duty

Leinster have registered New Zealander James Lowe for this weekend's Champions Cup return fixture with Exeter Chiefs at the Aviva Stadium.

The former Super Rugby sensation made his debut for Leinster against Benetton Rugby in the Guinness Pro 14, scoring twice on debut but was not automatically registered for Europe.

The potential long-term absence of Rhys Ruddock due to a serious hamstring tear has opened the door for Leo Cullen to name Lowe in his Champions Cup squad for this weekend.

Another week of training alongside his new teammates at Leinster HQ in UCD has convinced the coaching staff that Lowe has integrated successfully into his new environment.

Leinster sit on top of Pool 3 with 14 points after a 8-18 victory in Sandy Park on Sunday and a similar result at the Aviva Stadium will bring the three-time champions a step closer to the knockout stages.
