Lewis Moody, the former England captain, believes Dylan Hartley’s experience will enable him to retain his place in Stuart Lancaster’s training squad but says that his four-week suspension will cost him his berth as their first-choice hooker.

Lancaster will announce at a press conference on Friday how he intends to deal with the latest in a long line of indiscretions with cumulative suspensions totalling 54 weeks after the Northampton captain butted Jamie George in the Premiership semi-final against Saracens.
