Los Pumas Squad: Captain Julian Montoya fit to tackle Wallabies

Argentina have been boosted by the return to fitness of captain Julian Montoya and halfbacks Tomas Cubelli and Nicolas Sanchez.

Los Pumas head coach Michael Cheika included the trio in his 34-man squad for the two Rugby Championship matches against Australia after they all missed the series decider against Scotland.

Pocket rocket speedster Santiago Cordero also returns with veteran flyhalf Benjamin Urdapilleta returning.

Argentina was without to Cubelli for the entire series against Scotland after he pulled up in the warm-up of the first test with Sanchez following early in the first half of the first test - both missed the rest of the series.

As Cheika prepares to take on his former employers for the first time as head coach having coached the Wallabies in two Rugby World Cups.

Tighthead prop Santiago Medrano, loose forward Joaquin Oviedo and centre Lucas Mensa all return to the squad while Guido Petti and Bautista Delguy are rested for the tests against New Zealand and South Africa.

Los Pumas host Australia in back-to-back test matches in Mendoza and San Juan on 6 and 13 August.
