Major League Rugby Wrap Up

Week Seven of Major League Rugby was yet another exciting one as the race for top spot in the standings is really hotting up between five teams, one being last year’s champions the Seattle Seawolves.

The reigning champions, who were arguably in the game of the weekend, were in all sorts of trouble against the Houston Sabercats with 10 minutes left in the game. Two back-to-back tries from Seattle saw them come up on tops in a 24-14 victory.

The other games of the weekend saw Rugby United New York thump the Utah Warriors, Toronto upset the San Diego Legion and the Glendale Raptors inflicted more misery on the Austin Elite.

Here are the results:

MLR Log:

The MLR log is extremely tight after round seven, first and second place has one point between them while 2nd and third have two points between themselves

Top Points Scorers:

Brock Staller, who is from the Seattle Seawolves, is the competitions leading points scorer with 68. The flyhalf has managed to kick 13 conversions, nine penalties and cross the white line on three occasions for his side.

The leading try scorer is Glendale winger John Ryberg, who has scored five tries in seven rounds of action already.
