Matt Beesley to join Ealing Trailfinders from Northampton Saints

Ealing Trailfinders have announced the signing of front-rower Matt Beesley from Northampton Saints.

The 26-year-old has spent the last two years at Franklin’s Gardens and will now head to Vallis Way for the 2018/19 season.

“Our set-piece has given us an outstanding platform this season to play some great attacking rugby and with Matt’s arrival we are confident that he will add yet more quality and experience," said Director of Rugby Ben Ward.

"His time at Northampton will have been invaluable in his development and we’re looking forward to him making further strides forward with Ealing Trailfinders.”

Before joining Northampton, the 26-year-old began his rugby career with the Yorkshire Carnegie Academy whilst studying at Leeds Beckett University, before sending three years at Wharfedale and making over 60 appearances between 2013 and 2016.

From there he was invited to a trial with the Saints, and after signing a professional deal with them he has been in and around the match day squad as well as featuring for the Wanderers in the A League.
