Matt Kvesic set to remain on the sidelines

Matt Kvesic is set to miss Saturday’s clash with Sale Sharks as Gloucester brace themselves for a battle of the breakdown.

The England flanker was ruled out of last week’s defeat to Northampton Saints due to the toe injury he picked up in pre-season against the Scarlets.

His recovery is progressing well and he played some part in training this week, as did Nick Wood, but Gloucester director of rugby is consigned to the 22-year-old losing his fitness race to face the Sharks.
