Auckland showed their intent in the 1st half going 18-9 up into the break after two quick tries by Robbie Abel in the final minutes on the half. Waikato's errors did not allow them to come back into the game as they showed an improvement in the 2nd half but the home side made it tough. Auckland's 5 tries will take them to the top of the table with Waikato coming away with a bonus point.
