Northampton Saints past 5 seasons Champions Cup results

Northampton Saints defeated Leinster with a narrow 34-37 to secure a place in the Champions Cup final for the first time in 14 years. The Saints will face Union Bordeaux Bègles in the final at the Principality Stadium on the 24th May.

In the 2023-24 season Northampton Saints came within a whisker of a remarkable comeback in Dublin but ended up falling just short against Leinster in the semi-final of the Champions Cup.

In 2021-22 the Northampton Saints fixture against Racing 92 in Paris, scheduled for Sunday 23 January, was cancelled.

Saints were due to travel to France for the Round 4 fixture in Pool A, but returned a number of positive Covid-19 results overnight in the squad’s final round of PCR testing.

Following consultation with EPCR and PRL, it was decided that the team should not travel, and therefore Northampton Saints are unable to fulfil the fixture. In accordance with the Tournament Rules, Racing 92 were awarded a 28-0 victory and five match points, with Saints gaining no match points.

In 2020-21 the Saints only played 2 group games, and the rest of the competition was postponed due to Covid-19.

In the 2019-20 season the Saints lost 38-15 to Exeter Chiefs in the quarterfinals of the Champions cup.
