Damian Willemse produced a standout display and was deservedly named Man of the Match. Operating at inside centre, he gained 90 metres, beat six defenders, made two clean breaks and contributed heavily in both attack and defence with 12 carries, nine passes, two offloads, four tackles and a turnover won.
Cheslin Kolbe was electric on the wing, running for 119 metres and beating four defenders. His three clean breaks matched the highest among this group, and he made seven carries and four tackles while adding an offload.
Pieter-Steph du Toit worked tirelessly in the loose, carrying six times for 31 metres, making a clean break and two offloads while topping the tackle count here with six.
Jasper Wiese marked his return from suspension with a physical performance, carrying 12 times for 37 metres and beating six defenders. He added eight passes, an offload, six tackles and a turnover in a busy outing.
For New Zealand, Leicester Carter was industrious on the wing. He gained 25 metres, beat seven defenders – the most of any player listed – and made nine carries, five passes, an offload and three tackles.
