Ollie Thorley's Record Breaking Half Against Leicester Tigers

Gloucester's speedster Ollie Thorley set a new Premiership record on Sunday as he ran in four tries in just 30 minutes against Leicester Tigers.

The 23-year-old was involved in England's Six Nations' squad before the competition was stalled by the global pandemic and if his current form is anything to go by, he may finally earn his first test cap once test rugby resumes in October.

In the two games, Thorley featured in following the resumption of the Premiership he scored twice against Worcester before being held scoreless against Bristol Bears.

However, he enjoyed an outstanding first forty against Leicester scoring four times and breaking the joint record held by Christian Wade and Tom Voyce as the quickest player to dot down four times.

Only Voyce and Wade were the only two other players to score four tries in the first half of a Premiership match with both players completing their four-try hauls in 37 minutes - stat courtesy of Stu Farmer.

Thorley completed his in the 30th minute with his first, second and third coming in the 9th, 22nd and 26th minute respectively.

His first try came from a well-worked move where Gloucester shifted the ball down the right flank with a  simple draw and pass sending the speedster over the line.

His second try was down to the excellence of Danny Cipriani who threw a wonderful dummy before popping the ball to Thorley who powered over.

He completed his hattrick as he raced onto a great grubber from fullback Jason Woodward while his fourth was easily his best of try.

The Cherry and Whites speedster received the ball in his own half after some lovely hands from Danny Cipriani and Jason Woodward put Thorley away down the touchline.

He sprinted into the Tigers' half before he rounded Zack Henry and scored out wide.
