Pierre Spies announces his retirement

Former Springbok loose forward Pierre Spies has announced his retirement from all from all forms of rugby following a career that last 13 years.


 
Spies made his professional debut for the Blue Bulls against Griquas in 2005. Spies was handed his Springbok debut in 2006 by then-coach Jake White and went on to don the green and gold on 53 occasions.
 

 

Spies was one of many South African players who headed north in the twilight of their careers and represented Montpellier, coached by White.
