Leinster

1. Cian Healy – 7/10

Put under some early pressure at scrum time but recovered well as the game wore on. He was impressive in the loose, showing some good handling skills and dynamic ball carrying.

2. Sean Cronin – 6/10

Pretty quiet afternoon from the Leinster hooker. Posted a solid lineout success rate of 82% and put in a reasonable shift at the breakdown.


3. Tadhg Furlong – 7/10

Solid at scrum time, consistently putting the pressure on his opposite number. Made a good impression with ball in hand making 9 big carries and put in some huge hits defensively.


4. Devin Toner – 6/10

Quiet afternoon for the second row. Solid at lineout and hard working at the breakdown. Unfortunately failed to make an impression with ball in hand.

5. James Ryan – 8/10

Impressive in the lineout; winning a lot of his own ball and managing to steal a lot of opposition ball. Put in a big shift defensively and carried very well.

6. Scott Fardy – 7/10

Got through an excellent amount of work at the breakdown, disrupting the speed of the Racing play throughout the game. Also very solid defensively, making some important hits.

7. Dan Leavy – 7/10

Excellent performance this afternoon from the young Leinster flanker. Secured a few vital turnovers and posted a 100% tackle success rate.

8. Jordi Murphy – 7/10

Made a couple of crucial tackles and held up the Racing play at times. Carried consistently but failed to make a significant impact in attack.

9. Luke McGrath – 7/10

Another solid performance from the scrum-half. Controlled his backline well and executed some perfect box kicks. Passed accurately throughout.

10. Jonathan Sexton - 7/10

Played some lovely passes to set teammates into key attacking spaces at times. Made a few good half breaks but only managed a 60% success rate from the tee.

11. Isa Nacewa – 7/10


The veteran winger showed some moments of brilliance with ball in hand. Solid performance overall, except for a couple of poor touch kicks early in the second half.

12. Robbie Henshaw – 8/10

The most effective attacker in the Leinster backline today. Consistently got over the gainline and was rock solid in defence.

13. Garry Ringrose – 7/10

Another one of the better Leinster performers. Impressive as always in attack and impervious in defence.

14. Jordan Larmour – 7/10

A quiet but assured performance from the young Leinster winger. Showed great positional awareness and marshalled the backfield very well.

15. Rob Kearney – 8/10

Another very solid performance from Kearney. He made several breaks for a total gain of 89 metres and kicked well out of hand throughout.

Very solid afternoon from the Racing hooker. Posted an impressive lineout success rate, put in a brilliant shift at the breakdown and carried effectively throughout.

Question marks over his scrummaging at times. Made a good impression with ball in hand making a few huge carries and put in some crushing hits defensively.

 

  1. Donnacha Ryan – 7/10

Surprisingly quiet afternoon for the second row against his former rivals. Solid at lineout and hard working at the breakdown. Unfortunately failed to make an impression with ball in hand.

 

  1. Leone Nakarawa – 6/10

Quiet afternoon from the big man. Solid at the lineout but failed to have his usual impact on  

 

  1. Wenceslas Lauret – 7/10

Got through an excellent amount of work at the breakdown, disrupting the speed of the Leinster play throughout the game. Also, very solid defensively, posting an impressive tackle success rate.

 

  1. Bernard le Roux – 7/10

Excellent performance this afternoon from the French flanker. Showed great technique and determination at the breakdown to get over the ball and win several vital penalties for his side.

 

  1. Yannick Nyanga– 8/10

Made a couple of crucial tackles and held up the Leinster play at times. Unsurprisingly, he looked very dangerous with ball in hand and caused the opposition defence a host of problems from start to finish.

 

  1. Teddy Iribaren – 9/10

Really classy performance in the absence of Maxime Machenaud. Controlled his backline well and executed some perfect box kicks. Passed accurately and made some big hits in defence when called upon. Very accurate from the tee also.

Unfortunately forced off early through injury after 5 minutes.

 

  1. Marc Andreu – 6/10

Very quiet afternoon for Marc Andreu. Consistently had to come in off his wing to get the ball as most of the action seemed to be played through the middle of the pitch. Missed a couple of tackles.

 

  1. Henry Chavancy – 7/10

Chavancy was one of the more effective Racing attackers, beating a couple of defenders for a total gain of 27 metres. Solid defensively, making 7 tackles and only missing one.

 

  1. Virimi Vakatawa – 7/10

Another Racing defender who was rock solid this afternoon, making some bone-crunching hits throughout. Also failed to make any real attacking impact.

 

  1. Teddy Thomas – 7/10

Showed some brief flashes of attacking brilliance but never managed to hit top gear. Solid in defence and hard working at the breakdown. 

 

  1. Louis Dupichot – 7/10

In defence, the young full-back was foot perfect, recording a tackle success rate of 100%. Failed to make any real impact in an attacking sense.
