Polota-Nau Returns To Waratahs

Leicester Tigers hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau will re-join the Waratahs in Super Rugby on a short-term loan deal.

The Wallaby reports for duty this week at the New South Wales franchise –  where former Tigers centre Daryl Gibson is head coach – and is scheduled to return to Welford Road before the end of March.

Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy said: “Taf has just returned from injury and he has the opportunity to gain important game time with the Waratahs who have some senior players sidelined in his position."

Having already made 142 Super Rugby appearances for the NSW Waratahs, Polota-Nau will be back on Australian soil to provide a short term injury cover for the Tahs, with Sham Vui currently sidelined and Tolu Latu.

“We are pleased to welcome home internationally renowned hooker and NSW Waratahs’ own Tatafu Polota-Nau, to help fill a short term need with our squad,” said NSW Waratahs head coach Gibson.

Polota-Nau's return to New South Wales will assist the Waratahs who are without the services of Tolu Latu for six weeks after he pleaded guilty for foul play against the Sunwolves in Round two.
