England vs Fiji, Friday (20:00)
A good opener to get the World Cup underway. England will be raring to go with a packed Twickenham behind them and do go into this one as the favourites. However Fiji have got some world class players in their ranks with England noting the presence of Leone Nakarawa and Nemani Nadolo is a very special player.
England are one of 5 sides to never lose to Fiji along with New Zealand,France, South Africa and Ireland. Fiji will be looking to break that record and with their strongest side in their international history, there is reason for the Flyin' Fijians to be confident.
England have named an unchanged side and should go into this one with confidence after a good win against 6 Nations champions Ireland 2 weeks ago. Ben Youngs is set to make his 50th England cap, not a bad place to get it!
History of when these sides have met:
10 Nov 2012 England 54 - 12 Fiji
20 Oct 1999 England 45 - 24 Fiji
20 Jul 1991 Fiji 12 - 28 England
04 Nov 1989 England 58 - 23 Fiji
17 Jun 1988 Fiji 12 - 25 England
History suggests an England win then!
Key man: Chris Robshaw. The England captain may not stand out, but his decision making is vital for England if they will play to their strenthghs at the set piece or try take on Fiji by throwing the ball about, which will suit the Flyin' Fijians. Also his work rate is second to none for England and if he's on key, normally the rest of the team follow suit.
One to watch: Nemani Nadolo. Anyone who watches Super Rugby knows how good this guy is. Nadolo has scored 21 tries in 27 appearances for the Crusaders so his record speaks for himself. England will need to double up on Nadolo because his pace and pure power will hurt the hosts for sure.
Head to Head: Anthony Watson & Nemani Nadolo. This will be very interesting to see two very talented wingers up against eachother. Both have had excellent seasons, Watson has confirmed his place in the England line-up with a strong year for club and country. This will be a real test for him though coming up against someone as powerful as Nadolo. As previously mentioned Nadolo can hurt any opposition and with a record as good as his, this should be an intriguing match up.
