Quins squad for Prem opener against Bath Rugby

Harlequins have named their matchday 23 to take on Bath Rugby in round one of the Gallagher PREM at a sold-out Twickenham Stoop on Friday night (25 September, KO 19:45 - live on HBO Max).

Jack Kenningham is set to make his 100th appearance in the quarters at The Stoop, a stone's throw from where the flanker grew up in St Margarets, Twickenham.

Elsewhere in the pack, summer signing James Dun and former academy graduate Harry Browne are set to make their Gallagher PREM debuts for the Club.

Will Hobson, Jack Walker and Pedro Delgado have been named across the front row, with Will Evans starting at openside flanker and Chandler Cunningham-South lining up at number 8.

In the halfbacks, Will Porter is partnered with Connor Slevin. The former academy graduate is set to make his first Gallagher PREM appearance as Marcus Smith misses out through a hand injury sustained against Edinburgh last week.

Bryn Bradley and Oscar Beard are paired in the centres, with captain Cadan Murley starting on the left wing and Cameron Anderson on the right. Tyrone Green completes the starting XV at fullback.

Jason Gilmore has opted for a five-three split amongst his impact players for the season opener with plenty of firepower at his disposal.

Sam Riley, Boris Wenger and Harry Johnson-Holmes have been selected as replacement front row, while the experienced pair of Kieran Treadwell and Guido Petti Pagadizábal are also set to be introduced.

Meanwhile, Lucas Friday, Josh Bellamy and Rodrigo Isgró provide cover across the backline.

Marcus Smith sustained a hand injury in last Friday's friendly against Edinburgh and is ruled out of this tomorrow’s Gallagher PREM opener against Bath Rugby. He will be assessed on a week-to-week basis by the Club's medical department in conjunction with England Rugby.

Speaking at this week's press conference, Head Coach Jason Gilmore said Fin Baxter is "a couple of weeks away" from returning to action in the quarters. Baxter remains unavailable as a precautionary measure while he completes the final stages of rehabilitation from a foot injury he has had since December 2025. Like Smith, Baxter’s return will be managed in conjunction with England Rugby.

George Furbank is completing his return to play protocols after being replaced early in the Edinburgh fixture with a head injury. Gilmore said Furbank is tracking well and could be available as early as Round 2.
