Read & Franks fit for Super Rugby final

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson has assured Kieran Read and Owen Franks will be fit for the final despite both coming off with injuries against the Chiefs.

Read left the field in the final minutes with a knee injury while Owen Franks had a sore Achilles tendon.

Despite the injuries, Robertson says that both players are on the plane to South Africa.

"Read has got an old niggly knee and he gave it a little tweak," Robertson said.

"It has swollen up but he will be fine. He has done it before and gotten through the week.

"Owen has a grumpy Achilles which is not good in the cold, and he sat down at halftime and after five minutes he said 'I'm done' - so we decided to look after him.

"We arrive in Johannesburg on Sunday night, so it gives us a full week to recover so we are optimistic they will be fine."
