Sam Davies

Very unlucky to come away on the losing side. Davies controlled the majority of the game at the Liberty Stadium for Ospreys, constantly putting them in good positions on the pitch. Davies kicked from hand superbly, easing pressure on his side as Munster came forward and also putting them in good attacking positions. His passing was top drawer and had a keen eye to put his fellow Ospreys players through in good lines.

James Short

The Chiefs winger was in clinical form as he helped his side to a 48-32 away victory against Worcester. After a sloppy start from Short and his team, he scored an important try to bring his side back into the game. As the Chiefs ramped up the gears, so did Short who showed great finishing ability to add another 2 tries to complete his hat trick.

Ruan Pienaar

Ruan Pienaar was the stand out performer in his sides comprehensive victory over a struggling Glasgow side in this afternoon’s PRO 12 clash. In his first game back after a long injury spell on the side line he showed no signs of rustiness and slotted back into the familiar number 9 jersey with ease. He marshalled the back line expertly knowing when to distribute and when to go himself. He was also excellent from the tee, slotting 4/6 of his place kicks. This exceptional performance was a reminder to all Ulster fans of what they’ve been missing in his absence.

Marcell Coetzee

The man of the match award in this phenomenal team performance by Ulster went to the South African back row forward Marcell Coetzee. He was a dog at the breakdown, never giving Glasgow a moment, constantly keeping them under pressure and forcing an abundance of errors. He carried impressively and was a brick wall in defence making countless hits and forcing Glasgow back over the gain line again and again. The Ulster faithful will be looking forward to seeing more of this powerhouse in action as the season continues.

Tiernan O’Halloran

There will no doubt be more calls from Irish fans to see the fullback in the green jersey more often after he again showed his class tonight. The Clifden native picked up the MOTM award for his exploits tonight, which included getting his side’s first try of the game after just five minutes. He ran a lovely support line for Matt Healy, collecting the ball from his back-three partner before running away to score under the posts. That set the tone for a magnificent performance by the fifteen who looked a threat whenever he got his hands on the ball, looking to run from deep and get over the gainline with every carry. He also was imperative in defence, making a couple of cover tackles when the Dragons looked certain to score out wide.
