Springbok debutants show their class in win over Wales
- 334
South Africa showed their class in round three of the Nations Championship, beating Wales 43-0 in Durban. The home side had 58% possession and 60% territory. Wales lived off scraps and were under big pressure in the scrums.
South Africa had four debutants in their match day 23. Prop Carlu Sadie, lock Ruben van Heerden, flyhalf Vusi Moyo and wing Jaco Williams.
Sadie. The prop stood his man in the scrums in the 47 minutes he was on the park.
Van Heerden. Was the main lineout jumper and put huge pressure on the Welsh lineouts. One or two penalties againt him at the breakdowns but that is expected from a lock with a huge work load.
Moyo. His first two up and unders were not on the money but then settled. He kicked three conversions and missed one but can be very happy with his 47 minutes.
Williams. He scored a try and assisted two. Twice the threw a offload to no one but always looked for work on attack. He is dangerous in broken play.
The road forward for them? It all really depends how the injuries look in the Springbok camp. All of them are capable of playing for the Springboks in any game.
