Springbok player ratings vs Scotland

South Africa secured their second victory in the Nations Championship after beating Scotland 42-28 at Loftus Versfeld. It was no smooth sailing for Rassie Erasmus's team as the scorers were 14-all in the 56th minute.

Below is our Springbok player ratings

15 Aphelele Fassi-7/10 | Was safe under the high ball but a few incorrect decisions is something he would like to look at.

14 Edwill van der Merwe-6/10 | Not a lot of chances with the ball.
13 Jesse Kriel-8/10 | He scored a great try to seal the win for the Springboks.
12 Damian Willemse-8/10 | He moved in the second half to full-back. Scored a well worked try.
11 Ethan Hooker-8/10| Late resplacement for Canan Moodie. Had a busy evening on the wing, but no faults.
10 Handre Pollard-8/10 | Man of the match Pollard moved to inside centre. Kicked well to posts.
9 Embrose Papier-8/10 | Scored a great opening try from his own 10 meter, sniping next to the breakdown.

8 Evan Roos-7/10 | Scored the second try of the match. One or two breakdown penalties for not holding his bodyweight.
7 Pieter-Steph du Toit-8/10 | Captain du Toit led from the front. Kept his team on track when things went a bit skew.

6 Paul de Villiers-8/10 | Strong carries from du Villiers in his second test. Scotland were quick on their own breakdowns and that kept de Villiers at bay.

5 Ruan Nortje-6/10 | Lineouts were good but in the second half he was caught out a few times on defence.
4 Cobus Wiese-8/10 | Left the field in the 30th minute with a back injury. He got through a ton of work on both sides of the ball.
3 Wilco Louw-7/10 | Had the advantage in the scrums but Pierre Schoeman got one over him just before half time. Got through a ton of work on defence.
2 Johan Grobbelaar-7/10 | First lineout were a over throw but two steals at the breakdown brings his rating up to 7.
1 Boan Venter-7/10 | Same as Wilco Louw. 

Replacements 7/10 - Not the impact we know from the bench but 2 tries, a try saving tackle and scrum penalties is good enought.
