George Ford is ready for England.
Whether England are ready for him, however, is the question.
The answer is almost certainly a resounding negative with the injured Owen Farrell perceived as the backbone of the team.
If Stuart Lancaster is lucky and Farrell unfortunate, the Saracens No 10’s hamstring problem will keep him out of first-team action at club level long enough to delay his international return.
The England head coach needs some luck to force his hand, because Lancaster seems to have made up his mind.
