Super Rugby Final - Top Performers

The Crusaders go back to back and extend their home ground play off win record in Christchurch as they march on to the 2018 Super Rugby title. Here are the top performers topped by the Man of the Match, Richie Mo'unga

Richie Mo'unga:

Not only did the 24 year old lead his team around the park he also took centre stage during the half time talk. 100% kicking record on the day as he made the Lions defence suffer with great kicks and decision making. He is starting to put more and more pressure on the All Black selectors as they need to seriously consider him for the 10 jumper

Matt Todd:

The Lions had a majority of the possession and territory. Matt Todd steps up yet again and makes 22 tackles on the day (He missed just 1). Over and above his defensive work he made a few crucial breaks beating 3 defenders.

The Crusaders Pack:

The Lions have had the rub of the green this season with 4 main factors being in their favor, the scrum, maul, Malcolm Marx & Kwagga Smith. All 4 of these factors were suppressed in the final and starved the visitors of their bread and butter.

Ruan Combrinck:

The out of favor Springbok winger stepped up on attack today by leading the Meters Gained, Defenders Beaten & Clean Breaks for the game. He made 2 decisive breaks taking his team to within 10m of the line but the Lions could not convert.

Franco Mostert:

10 carries and 19 tackles for the ever impressive Mostert. He was also the biggest tackler of the season with well over 200 tackles for the season. He and Whiteock still have a Super Rugby and International line out battle with the All Black having the better of him on the day
