Robbie Fleck’s Stormers went down 24-9 to a 14 man Blues side in Auckland on Saturday morning and here are some of the talking points of the game.

Stormers Dominate The Statistics But Have Nothing To Show For It

The men from Cape Town dominated the territory (67%) and the ball possession (64%)  in the game but could not capitalise on any of that. The Stormers side also made 426 metres in the match and carried the ball 70 times over the gain line.

One expected Fleck’s men to keep it tight against the Blues but in fact, they went with a more expansive game which ultimately caused them to run out of steam in the last 10 minutes of the game.

Blues Down To 14 Men An Still Stormers Couldn’t Get Points On The Board

In the 70th minute of the match, the Blues went down to 14 men after Tanielu Tele’a was shown red after his tackle on Dillyn Leyds.

Although with being a man up with 10minutes still to play the Stormers could not find a way to score a single point. There were numerous amount of handling error throughout the game and the pace of the match seemed to have taken its toll on the Cape side.
