Tempers reached boiling point and tipped over in the South African Super Rugby derby between the Sharks and Bulls in Durban.
Springbok hookers Schalk Brits and Akker van der Merwe were both sent to the sin bin for the remainder of the game following a punch up before the hour mark.
Akker van der Merwe was also judged to have headbutted Brits who reacted. The red card was Brits' first of his Super Rugby career.
