The NEW Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow Warriors are the latest team to go through a rebrand and have launched with a new logo and video

The new-look Warrior draws heavily upon the history of both the club and the city, providing a clean brand befitting of the club’s stature within the modern game.

A simple, modern design, the new emblem was inspired by the figure of Wullie the Warrior, designed by the Glasgow Warriors squad in reflection of the squad’s identity and values.

Speaking following the launch, Glasgow Warriors Managing Director Nathan Bombrys told the club’s Warriors Weekly podcast that the new logo honours the club’s past whilst setting its sights for the future.

“It’s something that we’d been looking at for a couple of years now,” he said.

“Our old badge is 23 years old – it’s been with the club since the dawn of professionalism. With the club well established at Scotstoun and regularly making the knockout stages of the Guinness PRO14, we felt it was time to take another look at our identity and update it with something that reflects who we are and where we want to go as a club.

“The feedback we constantly get from our supporters and discussions with our playing group served us with our inspiration. We represent Glasgow and the West, and we represent our community. I believe we have closer links to our community, especially on matchdays, than any other club in the Guinness PRO14.

“When you have the best travelling supporters in the Guinness PRO14 – which then goes up another level in Europe – wearing our distinctive black and blue and distinguished as Warriors, we didn’t feel like we had to change too much. Our new emblem brings together our history, our heritage and our values, and we think it’s a really great modern look.”
