The Stormers retain Springbok trio - reports

The Stormers have managed to retain the services of three key Springboks for next season according to South African newspaper the Rapport.

Pieter-Steph du Toit, Frans Malherbe and Steven Kitshoff have all decided to remain in Cape Town despite the trio attracting a lot of interest abroad for their services after the World Cup in Japan.

Kitshoff has been heavily linked with a move to Sale Sharks along with du Toit with du Toit also drawing interest from Harlequins.

According to Rapport newspaper, Kitshoff and du Toit were influenced by WP Rugby’s proactive choice to confirm the appointment of John Dobson as the Stormers coach for 2020.

Dobson is a highly rated coach in South Africa and has been working in the franchise for the past few years leading the side to the Currie Cup title in 2017 and runners-up last season.

The 27-year-old loosehead prop was reportedly on the verge of signing for Sale Sharks before WP Rugby got financial assistance from another party and SA Rugby to fund his new contract.
