Josh Bassett re-signs with Wasps

Wasps have announced that Josh Bassett has become the latest player to sign a new contract with the club.

 

He joins Joe Launchbury, Elliot Daly, Rob Miller, Ashley Johnson, Tom Cruse and Alex Rieder who have all previously this season committed their long-term futures to the side. Full story


 

Sharks named 2018 Super Rugby squad


The Sharks Head Coach, Robert du Preez has announced the names of 45 players that form part of his Super Rugby squad for 2018.

The squad consists of 25 forwards and 20 backs, with 12 of the players capped at Springbok level. There are also host of players that have represented the junior Boks or featured in SA ‘A’ matches. Full squad

Schalk Burger suspended for one week

Saracens back row, Schalk Burger, has been suspended for one week following an independent Disciplinary Hearing in London on Tuesday (23 January) arising from his club's Champions Cup, Round 6 match against Northampton Saints at Allianz Park.


Burger was cited by the match Citing Commissioner, Peter Ferguson (Ireland), for dangerously entering a ruck and making contact with the Northampton Saints flanker, David Ribbans, in the 48th minute of the match in contravention of Law 9.20. Full story

Exeter Chiefs duo sign new 2-year deals

Exeter Chiefs duo Sam Hill and James Short are the latest players to commit their futures to the club with the duo both agreeing new two-year deals to stay at Sandy Park. 
 
 
The talented backs are the latest squad members to commit their futures to the reigning Premiership champions, following in the likes of Greg Holmes, Mitch Lees, Gareth Steenson, Elvis Taione, Ian Whitten, Harry Williams and Jack Yeandle, who themselves have all penned new contracts this month. Full story
 
Watkin extends Ospreys stay

Ospreys Rugby have announced that Owen Watkin has re-signed with the region this month.

The 21-year old from Bridgend has signed a new two-year contract that ties him to the Ospreys until at least summer 2020. Full story
