Jake White interested in England role.

World Cup winner Jake White is interested in succeeding Stuart Lancaster as England head coach.

The 52-year-old South African is the bookmakers' favourite for the post, which Lancaster resigned from.

Following a review into England's early World Cup elimination, the Rugby Football Union said it would now begin a "global search" for a coach.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Wednesday, the South African reiterated comments he had previously made about the England job.

He said: "If they genuinely think a foreign coach is the right way forward and it is genuine they think it is me, it would be naive of me to say I was not interested."

Henry and Smith not interested in England role.

Both Graham Henry and Wayne Smith have indicated that they would not be interested in filling the vacant role of England coach.

Lancaster stepped down from his coaching role late on Wednesday and the search is on for his replacement.

Dewi Morris, a former British and Irish Lions scrum-half believes that England must "move heaven and earth" to snap up the 2011 World Cup winner.

However, Henry, who is currently involved with Argentina in a assitant coaching role, had a very short answer.

"There is absolutely no chance of that happening," the 69-year-old told Stuff.

Meanwhile, All Blacks assistant coach Smith has also distanced himself from a proposed appointment in England.

"I'm being clear with everyone that I'm not coaching full-time in 2016," revealed the Chiefs backline coach.

"I've had 29 years in the game as a coach and it's time for a break. I'll see what 2017 and beyond brings. My head can turn like anyone else when it comes to money but, ultimately, I've come to understand that's not what's going to make you happy."
