Toomua not giving up yet
Brumbies fly-half Matt Toomua hasn’t given up hope of playing out the rest of the season and putting himself in the frame for the Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup.

Injury issues have disrupted Toomua’s season for the Brumbies, one to each ankle, as his weeks on the sidelines have racked up.

Matters could be worse for Toomua though when keeping in mind someone like Sam Carter, the Brumbies and Australia lock who suffered a knee ligament injury last weekend and is now out for nearly three months.

Toomua is now targeting a return for next weekend’s crunch clash with the Crusaders as the Brumbies try to secure a play-off berth.

"It's very frustrating, but it could be a lot worse, there are a lot of guys - you've only got to look at Sam Carter, someone who's in a lot more strife than I am, so I'm trying to keep perspective in that,” he told the Canberra Times.

"There's still a lot of time there for me to stake my claim for first of all a Brumbies jersey and a finals position and hopefully later in the year [for Wallabies and the World Cup].”
