Top 14's New Salary cap set at €11.3 million

The League National de Rugby (LNR) in France have confirmed the new Top 14 salary cap which will be in place for the next three seasons (this season included).

The new cap has been set at €11.3 million euro (£10m) per season which roughly works out to €322,000 per player over a squad of 35.

In order to simplify the policies put in place, the LNR have will no longer make exceptions depending on the number of youth players as well as medical jokers.

However, a credit of €200,000 will be provided to any player on the FFR list.

Finally, the clubs will be evaluated on regular basis to see that they are obeying the rules set by the LNR with a ban on any recruitment up to three seasons being a possible sanction.
