Top Performers - Crusaders vs Blues

In which was not seen as a typical New Zealand derby, the Crusaders did what they had to do to pick up the win in a 19-11 win against the Blues in Christchurch.

One can say it was a bruising encounter and also a match where both teams struggled to get hold of and even keep hold of the ball. Possession and territory was pretty much even throughout the game and tackles made we almost identical.

Let's have a look at who the top performers were in the match:

David Havili

The Saders fullback was very busy with minimal ball in hand but was always trying to get his team on the front foot. The No. 15 lead the metres gained list with 73 metres, made seven carries, beat three defenders and made 1 clear break on attack.

Bryn Hall

The scrum half played 60 minutes of the game but had a huge impact for his side, especially in the first half. Hall made 42 metres, beat one defender in the match and also scored his sides only try.

Matt Todd

The flanker was every so busy on defense and  lead tackle chart this morning with 16 hits in the game.

Melani Nanai

Probably the best Blues player on the field but was a little quiet by his standards if you look at his overall performances this season. The No. 15 made 67 metres in the match, beat three defenders and had one clear break.
