Connacht extends Heenan and Ronaldson contracts

Connacht Rugby has confirmed the two-year contract extension of flanker Jake Heenan and inside back Craig Ronaldson.

"Jake and Craig both started with the club the same season I did, and it's been fantastic to witness their growth and development as rugby players that time. They have both been great assets to the squad over the past seasons," said head coach Pat Lam.

Commenting on the signing, Connacht CEO Willie Ruane said he is "delighted that both Heenan and Ronaldson will remain an integral part of the senior playing club going forward."

Charlie Hogson makes 250th appearance for Saracens

Hogson earned his 250th cap in Saracen's 22-12 triumph over Harlequins at Wembley Stadium last weekend.

The fly-half, who has scored 39 tries in his 16-year career, is among the top try scorers in Premiership Rugby history with close to 2 600 points acquired in his lengthy career.

Waisake Naholo struggles with injury return for Highlanders

The club's top scorer  is behind schedule in his recovery from a leg fracture and may not return for the side for at least two weeks.

The Highlanders had hoped the 24-year-year old would be ready to play against the Sharks in Dunedin on Friday, but assistant coach Tony Brown has revealed that Naholo is still some time away from full contact training.

"We haven't really made plans for Naholo yet. We're getting him back running and he's been doing that at the moment," Brown said. "Once he can take a bit of contact, we'll make a plan for him."
