Jack Tovey to join Ealing Trailfinders from Bristol Bears

Ealing Trailfinders have announced the signing of Jack Tovey from Bristol Bears for the 2019/20 season. 


The centre came through the Bristol academy and has been with his home-town club since 2009, where he has gone on to make 189 appearances in a ten-year spell. 

Jersey Reds sign TJ Harris as Nick Selway confirms intention to step down


 


 

Jersey Reds have signed a new hooker for next season's squad, with Antonio 'TJ' Harris agreeing a move from Wasps.

The 25-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the Premiership club, based close to where he grew up in Coventry and played his first rugby for Barker's Butts RFC. 

News of Harris's signing follows confirmation that Nick Selway, the Reds' longest-serving player, will step down as a full-time professional player at the end of the season in order to return to his former trade in the construction industry. Full story

Scarlets sign Hurricanes forward Sam Lousi

 

 

Scarlets have bolstered their pack for next season with the signing of second row Sam Lousi from the Hurricanes.


The 27-year-old has been a regular for the New Zealand Super Rugby side since making his debut in 2017 and was in the starting line-up that took on the British and Irish Lions the same year.

Swys de Bruin commits to Lions for further two years

 


 

Rudolf Straeuli, CEO of the Lions Rugby Company, can confirm that Emirates Lions coach Swys de Bruin has committed to the club for another two years.

Schalk Brits suspended for 4 weeks

 


 

Schalk Brits has been found guilty of contravening Law 9.12: A player must not physically abuse anyone after he was issued with a Red Card during a Super Rugby match at the weekend. 

Brits has been suspended for 4 weeks, up to an including 4 May 2019. This suspension covers the period of the Player's next 4 Super Rugby matches.

Major League Rugby expanding to 12 teams in 2020

 


 

Major League Rugby will expand to 12 teams in 2020. The new teams in Boston (New England FreeJacks), Washington DC (Old Glory), and Atlanta (Rugby ATL) have already been approved and the door has now closed on further expansion next season. Full story
