Salvi leaving Leicester: Australian flanker Julian Salvi is to leave Leicester after 4 years at the club. The 29 year old will not be renewing his deal with the club after contract talks came to nothing with Richard Cockerill and the Leicester board. The saga around that is what it is, Julian is moving on - that's life, "Cockerill told BBC Radio LeicesterSalvi has been at Leicester since leaving the Brumbies in 2011 and has been an important member of Cockerill's squad throughout the years. Salvi has been linked with a move to France or Premiership rivals Exeter Chiefs, where he could join current Tigers team-mate Geoff Parling.
Hook for Wales?: Wales assistant coach Rob Howley has given James Hook hope ahead of the Rugby World Cup, saying the Gloucester playmaker could make the squad. The versatile 29-year-old has earned 77 caps and can play at fly-half, full-back and centre, was not selected by head coach Warren Gatland for Wales' recent Six Nations fixtures. But along with Cardiff Blues duo Gareth Anscombe and Rhys Patchell, Hook will be eyeing up a spot at the World Cup with, with Howley saying he's in the mix."Probably your third number 10 has to have the ability to play 10 and 15 and 12 and 13, so James Hook comes into the equation," he told BBC Sport.
