SANZAR renamed SANZAAR

In a host of changes, SANZAR has changed it's name to SANZAAR to acknowledge the Argentinian Rugby Union being part of the new setup.

Some of the rules include, for a team to win a BP, they must score 3 tries or more than their opponents, a replica of what is used in the TOP 14.

This is to encourage attacking free flowing rugby for the whole 80 minutes.

Also teams can now kick to touch following a penalty when time is up, this was also used in Australia for the NRC.

SANZAAR have also welcomed 9 new referees, including Argentinian Federico Anselmi and Japan's Shuhei Kubo.

Rhodri Williams to sign with Bristol

Scarlets have confirmed that the 22-year-old Williams has signed a two-year deal with Bristol and will leave the Scarlets at the end of the 2015-16 campaign after five seasons.

Jon Daniels, Scarlets General Manager of Rugby, said: “Rhodri is a talented young player who has developed through the ranks here at the Scarlets winning international honours at a young age.

“We are disappointed to see Rhodri leave the region but understand his desire and ambition to play regular rugby. We wish him well in his future endeavours with Bristol.”

Commenting on the news Rhodri Williams said: “I’d like to thank everybody associated with Scarlets during my time there. It’s a great club and I’ve enjoyed every minute and have made lifelong friends.

“I will continue to give my all to the Scarlets as we look to secure that all-important top four place in the PRO12.”
