Twelvetrees to go under the knife

Gloucester play-maker Billy Twelvetrees will undergo surgery following an ankle injury he picked up in the Cherry & Whites’ most recent, losing clash against Harlequins.

The 32 year-old will be out for two months after the completion of the minor surgery which is apparently routine and should come off without a hitch.

Gloucester head coach George Skivington said:

“Billy is a bit more severe [than Lloyd Evans, who was replaced in the 45th minute on Sunday after failing a HIA], he has got to have minor surgery which will take six to eight weeks to recover from," said Gloucester head coach George Skivington.

“He just got caught awkwardly in a tackle".

Gloucester, who are now without Twelevetrees as well as star flanker Jake Polledri who sustained a serious knee injury while playing for Italy recently, face French Top 14 side Lyon in the first round of the Champions Cup this weekend.
