Two URC fixtures postponed due to gastroenteritis

The United Rugby Championship have announced that two fixtures have been postponed due gastroenteritis infections.

Glasgow Warriors, Ulster Rugby, Sharks and Lions will not be in action this weekend.

The league's governing body confirmed the news with the following statement:

'The Round 6 United Rugby Championship fixtures involving Glasgow Warriors, Ulster Rugby, Sharks and Lions have been postponed.

Due to gastroenteritis infections it is not possible for Ulster or Glasgow Warriors to field full playing squads.

In order to ensure a duty of care towards the players involved and given the medical advice received from all key stakeholders, the URC has made the decision to postpone the fixtures.

The league will now move to examine potential dates to reschedule the games and will update in due course.'

The Lions were set to host Glasgow Warriors on Saturday while Ulster were set to take on the Sharks in Durban.
