Two Yellow Cards, A Red Card, A Try And A Melee In A Crazy 5 Minutes In The Top 14 Clash Between Clermont And Castres

Clermont made have cruised a comfortable 39-22 win over Castres on Sunday but the victory didn't come without a bit of controversy with a total of four cards being shown in the encounter, three of which coming within two minutes of one another during a crazy passage of play.

Former France lock Sébastien Vahaamahina, who was sent off for elbowing Aaron Wainwright at the Rugby World Cup, was shown a yellow card in the 48th minute after Clermont gave numerous penalties away close their line. 

Castres managed to score from the resulting penalty with Anthony Jelonch bursting over after scrumhalf Rory Kockett took the penalty quickly.

A melee broke out right after the try was scored with players being pushed into the advertising boards. 

After consulting with TMO, it was revealed that Sitaleki Timani had slapped a celebrating Rory Kockett in the face after the try was scored setting off the rest of the Castres' players.


Kockett is also seen slapping Timani on the head as he walked passed the lock before celebrating with the referee showing the scrumhalf a yellow card and the lock a red.
