Vincent Clerc to retire at the end of the season

Former France international Vincent Clerc has announced that he will retire from professional rugby at the conclusion of the Top 14 season.


The 36-year-old played over 315 games for Toulouse from 2002 to 2016 after signing for the club from Grenoble, where he led the Alps club to a ProD2 title-winning promotion.

Clerc switched to Toulon at the start of the 2016-17 campaign, he was capped for his country on 67 occasions, scoring 34 tries in the process for Les Bleus.

He made his first first appearance for France on November 9, 2002 against South Africa, scoring in that match.

Clerc bows out of his highly successful rugby career with 3 Champions Cup medals, a top 14 title and three Six Nations winners medals.
