What was a highly anticipated game turned out to be somewhat of a damp squib as Wales ran out easy winners by nineteen points to ten. France travelled to Cardiff buoyed by their win over Ireland two weeks ago, but it was Wales who came out of the blocks the quickest, coming close to scoring early on after a Gareth Davies break. Dan Biggar was his usual metronomic self from the tee, and put six points on the board in what was a tight first half. In reply, Jules Plisson added three for the visitors, but they were lucky to go in at the break just three points in arrears.

The second half started in a similar fashion, with Wales hammering the French line with relentless force. France, to their credit, held out for long periods, but their tired defence was eventually exposed midway through the second half. Off turnover ball Jonathan Davies kicked the ball deep into France territory. With no one at home George North out-paced the French scramble defence to score a crucial try. France fought valiantly towards the close of the game, and managed a consolation score through Guirado, but in truth were soundly beaten by a far better side on the night. A poor game of rugby marred by errors, but wales will be happy with another Six Nations win over their French counter parts.
