Watch: When a streaker tackled a Western Province player to prevent a try

Back in the 90s before the game went fully professional, a streaker famously interrupted a Currie Cup match by running onto the pitch to make a tackle.

The clash in Bloemfontein saw the Orange Free State (now the Free State Cheetahs), take on Western Province with Province needing to beat the home side to in their last league match of the season to qualify for the final against Transvaal (now the Lions).

WP Lock FC Smit looked set to score a match-winning try before he was tackled by Free State fan Bryan Baenhoff, who was only wearing just a pair of socks!

Free State went on to win the match 24-18, which sent them, WP and Northern Transvaal into a three-way playoff.

It is said that Bryan Baenhoff is still to pay for a drink in Bloemfontein since the incident.
