McPhillips appointed as Connacht Backs Coach

The club has confirmed that Conor McPhillips will take over as Backs Coach for the senior team from the start of the 2016/17 season.

Andre Bell, who had previously held the role as Backs & Kicking coach for the last two seasons, has returned home to New Zealand to be with his family.

Japan's Ayumu Goromaru joins Toulon

 Queensland Reds and Japan full-back Ayumu Goromaru has signed a one-year deal with French giants Toulon.

The 30-year-old back is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury he picked up playing Super Rugby for the Reds.

Two forwards sign for the Blues

 Counties Manukau lock Jimmy Tupou & former Blues Under-18 player Alex Hodgman will join the Blues in 2017.

Both players are moving back North from the Crusaders.
