Chadwick leaves Sharks for French club
Prop Dale Chadwick has left the Sharks to join French second division club Narbonne on a two-year contract, the Sharks today announced on their website.
He leaves the Sharks after a total of 95 caps, across Super Rugby and Currie Cup, since making his debut back in 2009.
Newport Gwent Dragon's squad update ahead of new season
As the new Pro12 season starts this weekend, the Dragons medical staff have today issued the following update on injuries:
Centre Ross Wardle, who sustained a knee injury during the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens tournament, will undergo surgery on his knee next week.
Lloyd Lewis sustained an injury during the Fosters 7s competition whilst playing for Cross Keys. He will see a specialist to determine the extent of his injury.
Ulster sign Georgian prop on short-term contract
Ulster have announced that Georgia prop, Anton Peikrishvili, will join the Province on a short-term contract until 19th December to fill the gap of three absent frontline tighthead props.
Peikrishvili has played club rugby in France since the 2007/08 season, having represented Agen, Castres, Brive and Bayonne.
Harlequins sign Samoan international Alofa Alofa
Harlequins have today confirmed the signing of Samoan international Alofa Alofa.
"I am really pleased to have secured the signing of Alofa. He is a dynamic and powerful player with the ability to break the line," said John Kingston, Harlequins Director of Rugby.
Capped three times by La Rochelle in the Top 14, Alofa was called into the New South Wales Waratahs squad in 2014, scoring on his debut.
Saracens capture Tolofua for after 2017/18
Saracens have confirmed that France international hooker Christopher Tolofua will join the club on a two-year deal from the beginning of next season.
The Toulouse front rower will head to north London after the completion of the 2016/17 Top 14 season.
Nottingham name Everard their new Captain
Nottingham have today announced that back rower Matt Everard has been confirmed as the club's new captain.
The Wasps and Leicester Tigers forward made his Nottingham debut for the club on loan as an 18 year-old in February 2010, when he featured in an away tie against Munster 'A'.
Narraway named London Irish captain
Luke Narraway has been appointed London Irish club captain ahead of the 2016/17 season, with Exiles icons Topsy Ojo and David Paice both named vice captains.
Narraway takes over the captaincy from George Skivington, who called time on his playing career at the end of last season.
Irish open up their Greene King IPA Championship campaign at home to Doncaster Knights this Saturday.
Warriors Academy trio join London Scottish on dual registration
Warriors Academy trio Charlie Hewitt, Sam Ripper-Smith and Huw Taylor have joined London Scottish on dual registration.
The dual registration means the trio can play for London Scottish in this season's Greene King IPA Championship and also for Warriors and Worcester Cavaliers if required.
Ruan Pienaar set to leave Ulster
Ulster Rugby has today confirmed that Ruan Pienaar will leave the club at the end of the 2016/17 season.
The club had intentions of extending Pienaar's contract, with the extension not possible due to the IRFU's succession policy.
"I am not moving on for a new adventure or for financial reasons - I wanted to stay and I know that Ulster Rugby did everything it could to keep me in Belfast...It is sad that this will be my last season as an Ulster player but I will be doing everything to ensure that we make it a successful campaign," said Pienaar.
Pienaar has scored 777 points in 118 competitive games for Ulster to date and he was a starring member of the squad that reached the 2012 Heineken Cup final.
BJ Botha signs with Lyon as a medical joker
South African prop BJ Botha has signed for Top14 side Lyon to replace injured Zaza Navrozashvili, the French side confirms.
Botha had been playing in Ireland since 2008 first for Ulster (2008-2011) and then for Munster from 2011-2016.
He was capped 25 times for South Africa and scored one try during his international career (2006-2010).
Hurricanes sign Reed Prinsep on a 2-year deal
Canterbury loose forward Reed Prinsep has signed a two-year deal to play Super Rugby with the Hurricanes.
Prinsep was named as the Canterbury Colts player of the year in 2014, the same year he made his senior provincial debut and made his Super Rugby debut this year against the Chiefs.
He will join the Hurricanes this November in preparation for the club’s Super Rugby title defence in 2017.
