Kieran Brookes signs new Wasps deal

Wasps have revealed that England tighthead prop Kieran Brookes has signed a contract extension.

 

 


Since arriving from Northampton Saints last summer, Brookes has impressed in the front row in his 14 appearances in the Black and Gold during the 2018/19 campaign. 

 


 

Matt Worley to leave Northampton Saints

 

 

Northampton Saints can today announce that utility back Matt Worley will be leaving Club at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who is equally comfortable on the wing or at full-back, arrived at Franklin’s Gardens last summer from French side Racing 92.

Manu Tuilagi rejects Racing 92's offer to re-sign with Tigers

Manu Tuilagi's post World Cup future has been decided with the bulldozing centre penning a new deal with the Leicester Tigers.

Tuilagi was heavily linked to move with Racing 92 recently with reports suggesting that Leicester were even considering a bid for Jonathan Davies to replace the centre should he leave the club.

Sunwolves launch initiative to fight Super Rugby axe

 

 

The Sunwolves has invited fans to come and sign a big Sunwolves jersey after their match with the Reds this weekend following the speculation that they could face the axe as soon as next season.

The current deal signed that saw the Sunwolves included in the competition expires in 2021 but recent reports suggest that their fate could be decided at a SANZAAR meeting on Thursday with South Africa leading the way in axing the side as soon as next season. Full story

World Rugby announces new look World Rugby Sevens Series

World Rugby has announced a new look men’s and women’s World Rugby Sevens Series which includes at least six combined men’s and women’s events.

The women’s series will now increase to eight rounds for the first time in its history over the next four-year cycle.

Dubai, Cape Town, New Zealand, Sydney, Hong Kong and Paris will host combined men’s and women’s sevens events from next season onwards as part of the next four-year world series hosting cycle. Full story

Edinburgh sign Super Rugby Lock on short-term deal

Edinburgh's recruitment drive ahead of next season has lead them to Australia with the signing of Scottish second-rower Murray Douglas on a short-term deal to provide cover during the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The 29-year-old former Heriot’s, Kirkcaldy and Aberdeen Grammar player returns home to Edinburgh, for whom he has already made one appearance - against Cardiff Blues in 2012.
