Finn Russell Joins French Giants

Scotland fly half Finn Russell has confirmed that he will be joining Paris based side Racing 92 next season.

He will replace Dan Carter at Racing 92 next summer, the club confirmed on their website on Tuesday as the player visited Paris.

The club said that Russell, who is 25 and has played 32 times for Scotland, spent time with his future coaches on Tuesday.


 "I've been lucky to play six seasons for Glasgow, but for my progression I felt that it was time for a change of environment," Russell said on Tuesday. He added that Racing "is a big club and I'm impatient to move there and play with my new team-mates".

Marino Mikaele Tu'u replaces Lentjes in Highlanders squad


Hawke's Bay loose forward Marino Mikaele Tu'u has been called into the Highlanders. 

The 20-year-old has made the New Zealand under-20 side for the past two years and will replace the injured James Lentjes.

Lentjes had a shoulder operation last month and is scheduled to get back on the field in April.

James Chisholm suspended for three-weeks

Chisholm was cited by independent citing commissioner Chris Catling and charged with allegedly tip tackling Bath Rugby's Kahn Fotuali’i contrary to law 10.4(j). The incident occurred in the first half of the match Bath Rugby v Harlequins on Saturday 25 November 2017. 


Chisholm pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended for a period of three weeks . He is available to play again on 19 December 2017.

Dylan Evans extends Scarlets stay

Scarlets have confirmed that loosehead prop Dylan Evans has committed his future to the region.

 
Australian born Evans joined the Scarlets ahead of the 2015-16 making his competitive debut against Munster in October 2015.

 
Welsh-qualified Evans, 28, represented the Combined NSW-Queensland Country side that took on the British & Irish Lions in 2013 and faced his now fellow Scarlet centre Jonathan Davies.

Owen Lane signs first senior contract with Cardiff Blues

Following a man-of-the-match performance in his PRO14 debut, Owen Lane has put pen to paper on his first senior Cardiff Blues contract.

The Wales Under-20 and Sevens star scored a try during the 36-30 win over Connacht last Friday and received widespread plaudits for his all-round performance at the Arms Park.


And he has now become the latest player to commit his future to Cardiff Blues, signing a long-term deal with his home region.
