Welsh Star eyed as Tuilagi's potential replacement at Leicester Tigers - reports

Wales and Scarlets star Jonathan Davies is reportedly being eyed up as a potential replacement for England star Manu Tuilagi should the midfielder take up the lucrative offer from Racing 92.

Davies could be the first big casualty at Scarlets with the future of Scarlets and Ospreys still up in the air.

According to a report in The Rugby Paper, Davies has already been “sounded out by Leicester about his future plans”.

It is understood that Davies is out of contract at the end of the season and could be enticed to head to the Premiership if Tuilagi were to take up the reported £2.6m three-year deal offered to him.

It would not be the 30-year-old Welshman's first venture outside of Wales having joined Clermont Auvergne in the summer of 2014 on a two-year deal.

The Welsh Rugby Union's 60 cap rule would not affect Davies as he earned his 72nd test cap against Scotland.

Tuilagi reportedly visited Racing 92's facilities last month and could make an announcement on his future after the Six Nations.
