Gloucester Rugby is pleased to announce the immediate signing of centre, Will Butler.
A product of Ledbury RFC, Butler rose through the ranks at Worcester Warriors from the age of 14, playing a vital role in their U18s’ Academy League titles in 2016 & 2017, whilst also making his debut in a Challenge Cup fixture against Enisei-STM in 2016.
Since leaving Worcester, Butler had a short spell in the RFU Championship with Hartpury RFC and a stint playing in New Zealand for Tasman Mako.
Butler was also a successful age-grade international for England, winning the 2017 U20s Six Nations and reaching the final of the U20s World Championship in the same year.
Director of Rugby, George Skivington, commented:
“We’re pleased to bring Will into the building here at Kingsholm to bolster our backs. We’re going into a run of really competitive games, so having strength in depth in key areas will be critical.
“Will is an experienced player and he’s extremely motivated to have another shot at the Premiership, so he’s come in with a real hunger to learn and work hard which has been pleasing.”
