Winners & Losers from Wallabies Team Announcement

The Wallabies defeated South Africa 38-22 on Saturday August 16 at Emirates Airline Park in Johannesburg and will be looking to pull off a double after naming strong lineup for the second Test in Cape Town this coming Saturday.

Here are our Winners and Losers from the team announcement. 

Winners

Corey Toole - An Olympian with the Australia Sevens program in 2024, Toole, who plays for the ACT Brumbies in Super Rugby Pacific, will start on the left wing.

Rob Valetini – The Powerhouse will be returning to the Wallabies starting lineup at number eight after suffering an injury during the second Test of the British and Irish Lions tour.

Fraser McReight - McReight will become the 91st player to captain Australia. He also took over as Captain in last weekend’s test after Harry Wilson left the field.

Losers

Dylan Pietsch and Harry Wilson – Both players unfortunately went off with an injury in the first Test last week and will miss out on the second Test this week.
