A strong second half by Australia u20 saw them cruise to a 44-15 win over Italy u20 in the semi-finals for 5th position at the World rugby Under 20 Championship. The sides each crossed for an early try, but Australia picked up a red card around the 20 minute mark, with Italy going over again for a 10-5 lead. Australia stormed back with a penalty and their second try to lead 15-10 at the break. Italy picked up a yellow card at the start of the second half, with Australia capitalizing immediately with a try making it 22-10. Another try for Australia followed, by a penalty extended their advantage, before Italy hit back with their third score making it 32-15. Australia would run in a further two tries sealing a comfortable victory.
